Arriving with a car
The island of Ortigia in Syracuse is a limited traffic zone (ZTL). To be able to transit and park you need to use a paid parking. There is a small one called Garage Ortigia Parking which is very close to Casa Lureca, only 5min walk. It is guarded 24/7 and to be booked in advance via phone. Otherwise you can use the city parking spots by downloading the app Easy Park to manage it easily.

Arriving without a car
If you want to go GREEN, you can easily arrive in Ortigia without a car from Catania airport, Palermo or any other major city in Sicily, as the bus terminal of Syracuse is only 20min walking distamce from the door of Casa Lureca, with direct busses serving several times per hour.

Self-checkin instructions
Once in Via Del Crocefisso 40, you will find a smart lock on the left of the entrance gate with a "Casa Lureca" label on it. Please input the code 0042 and pull done the little black lever to retrieve your set of keys. Open the gate and proceed throug the hallway. Open the first door to your left (also labeled “Casa Lureca"). Up the stairs, Casa Lureca door will be right in front of you.

Wifi and appliances
The wifi network is "Casa Lureca" with the following password: 57710200378566815759
The washing machine is placed inside the laundry room in the terrace, where you will also find hanging wires. -
Waste and recycling
You need to separate your own rubbish: organic trash in bin below the kitchen sink, using biodegradable bags, while all the other types in the specific bins on the kitchen balcony. Since they will collect the rubbish door by door according to a precise calendar, please follow these instruction to leave the trash outside the entrance gate directly on the street:
- Mon night: PLASTIC bagged up in plastic bag(s).
- Tue / Thu / Sun night: ORGANIC bagged up in biodegradable bags in its specific bin, which you have to bring back up in the morning.
- Wed night: MIXED bagged up in plastic bag(s) in its specific bin, which you have to bring back up in the morning.
- Fri night: GLASS AND PAPER not bagged up, just in their specific bins, which you have to bring back up in the morning. -
House rules
1. No parties allowed.
2. Strictly forbidden to light a fire.
3. Smoking is allowed only in the terrace. Use ashtrays properly. Smoking indoor or in the
balconies will incur in a 150€ extra cleaning fee. 4. Pets allowed upon request.
5. No unregistered guests allowed.
6. Don't eat or drink in the bedrooms.
7. Turn off the A/C when you leave the property.
8. Do not throw trash, paper towels, tampons or pads in the toilets, but only toilet paper.
9. Take care of your key. Lost keys incur in a 60€ replacement fee.
10. Take care of the furnishings and do not rearrange or move them.
11. Do your dishes before leaving. If you don’t, you will incur in an extra cleaning fee of 60€.
12. Please respect the recycling system (see the “Waste and Recycling” section). Not taking care of your trash will result in an extra cleaning fee of 100€.
13. No illegal substances allowed on the premises. -

• Cortile Verga via maestranza - super nice bubbles and food for aperitivo with many vegetarian options• Fratelli Burgio - they have two spots, one at the ortigia market with amazing sandwiches open for lunch and one bar at the port from where you can watch the sunset • Tinkité via guidecca - nice bar for coffee and smoothies
• Divino Mare via raffaele Lanza - for sea food and natural wine
• A Putia via Roma - very popular spot for lunch • Kaleido via pompeo picherali - kind of fancy sushi but with an amazing view
• Schiticchio - nice pizza -
Nature and beaches
• Oasi Gelsomineto - nature reserve outside Siracusa with an amazing beach and river.
• Riseva di Plemmirio - another beautiful nature reserve
• The two best swimming spots in Ortigia are Cala Rossa and Forte di Diana. Check both to see where the current brings the clearest sea.
