Arriving by car

The island of Ortigia is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), so to drive in you'll need a paid parking option:

• Garage Ortigia Parking — a small, guarded 24/7 garage, only a 5-minute walk from Casa Lureca. Booking is required in advance by phone.

• Autopark Ortigia — a small, guarded 24/7 garage, only a 2-minute walk from Casa Lureca. Booking is required in advance via the link provided.

• City parking — Download the EasyPark app to pay and manage your stay easily through several city authorised but unguarded parkings.

Arriving without a car 🌱

Ortigia is easy to reach car-free from Catania Airport, Palermo, or any other major city in Sicily. The Syracuse bus terminal is only a 20-minute walk from Casa Lureca.

🔑 SELF CHECK-IN Once you arrive at Via del Crocefisso 40: 1 On the left of the entrance gate, you'll find a smart lock labeled "Casa Lureca". 2 Enter the code 0042 and pull down the small black lever to retrieve your set of keys. 3 Open the gate and walk down the hallway. 4 Open the first door on your left (also labeled "Casa Lureca"). 5 Go up the stairs — Casa Lureca's door is right in front of you. 🕒 CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT • Check-in: from 4:00 PM • Check-out: by 10:00 AM 🔑 At check-out, please return the keys to the smart lock at the entrance gate (the same one you used on arrival). We kindly ask you to respect these times so we can properly clean and prepare the apartment for the next guests. If you'd like to request an early check-in or late check-out, just get in touch — we'll do our best to accommodate you!

❄️ AIR CONDITIONING The A/C control panel is right by the apartment entrance. It's very easy to use — just set your desired temperature, mode (cooling or heating), and fan speed. Please: • Keep windows, doors, and the terrace door closed when the A/C is on. • Use it reasonably — for the sake of the planet and energy consumption. 🌍 🗑️ WASTE & RECYCLING

Ortigia has a door-to-door waste collection system on a strict schedule, so please follow these instructions carefully:

• Use the sorting bins under the kitchen sink, plus the organic waste bin in the drawer beside it.

• Leave the corresponding waste outside the entrance gate, directly on the street AFTER 7:00 PM on the following nights:

  • Monday: Plastic In plastic bag(s)

  • Tuesday / Thursday / Sunday: Organic In biodegradable bags, inside its specific bin (kitchen balcony)

  • Wednesday Mixed / non-recyclable In plastic bag(s), inside its specific bin (kitchen balcony)

  • Friday Glass & Paper Not bagged — just in their specific bins (kitchen balcony)

• 👉 Please bring the bins back from the street to the kitchen balcony the next morning.

📜 HOUSE RULES 1 No parties allowed. 2 Strictly no open flames or fires. 3 Smoking is allowed only on the terrace — please use the ashtrays, not the plant pots. Smoking indoors or on the balconies incurs a €200 extra cleaning fee. 4 Pets allowed upon request. 5 No unregistered guests allowed. 6 No eating or drinking in the bedrooms. 7 Turn off the A/C when you leave the property. 8 Do not flush paper towels, tampons, pads, or any trash down the toilet — please use the designated bin. 9 Take care of your keys. Lost keys incur an €80 replacement fee. 10 Protect the furnishings: use the designated coasters and placemats. 11 Please do not rearrange or move the furniture. 12 Before leaving, please do your dishes or run the dishwasher — otherwise an extra €50 cleaning fee applies. 13 Please respect the recycling system (see above).
